Do you know what is going own right now in Malawi? Can you point Malawi out on a map? Just a few days ago, I know I couldn’t.
But who can really blame me? We have so much going on in our lives — going to school, going to work, not to mention spending time with our families and friends.
When you’re trying to be successful in life, it can be difficult and time-consuming to try and keep up with the news. For me, school and work take up most of my time. But I still believe that we should just take a few minutes a day to find out what is going on in the world.
This is why I love Global Visionaries.
GV allows you to not only learn more about a different part of the world, you can also see it first-hand. Not only can you go to Guatemala and visit, you get the chance to work and learn from people living there.
I think it is great that going on these trips is, in a way, like going on vacation but you also have to earn your stay. You learn a lot more and really understand the people and culture while working down there.
However, Global Visionaries’ programs are only some the many ways you can learn about the differences between your life and the life of somebody half way around the world. I think it’s important for everyone to know how people from different countries live.
So, take the time to learn more about the world you live in.
