Miles Alderman, Youth Representative
Miles Alderman was a participant in the Spring Immersion of 2016 and is a junior at Mercer Island High School. He was originally drawn to the program for the experience in a new culture, but soon realized that Global Visionaries embodies much more. He learned valuable leadership and teamwork skills that will serve him well in years to come. The trip also opened Miles’s eyes to the social justice issues that impact so many people in our world, from here in Seattle to down in Guatemala.
Outside of Global Visionaries, Miles enjoys the outdoors and its many enriching experiences. He spends a large portion of his free time fly-fishing, hunting, and hiking. These passions came together as he worked a remote fishing lodge on Kodiak Island, Alaska last summer. He also leads a Young Life group of eighth graders. Miles looks forward to using the experience on the Board of Directors as an opportunity to create a positive impact by serving as the voice between the participants and the adults.
